Product Overview

Metabolic support when crops face stress

OPTIVI is based on plant-derived protein processed through enzymatic hydrolysis. The resulting protein hydrolysate contains amino acids together with peptide fractions, including polypeptides and oligopeptides.

Supports Photosynthesis

Helps maintain leaf photochemical activity and photosynthetic efficiency during important growth stages.

Supports Stress Response

Helps strengthen crop response and tolerance to non-living environmental stresses, including drought stress.

Promotes Plant Growth

Supports plant growth and has a positive effect on biomass production.

Water-Use Efficiency

Supports stomatal regulation and the plant's ability to manage water more efficiently under challenging conditions.

N

Nitrogen Use

Supports nitrogen absorption and improved nutrient-use efficiency.

Antioxidant Balance

Supports antioxidant balance and helps reduce photosynthetic and biological damage associated with oxidative stress.

Protein Hydrolysate Explained

From plant protein to functional peptide fractions

OPTIVI is based on plant-derived protein processed by enzymatic hydrolysis. The resulting protein hydrolysate is a mixture of polypeptides, oligopeptides and amino acids. The declared composition does not provide the individual amount of each peptide fraction or a complete amino-acid analysis.

Plant protein enzymatic hydrolysis into peptides oligopeptides and amino acids

Simplified illustration of plant protein being broken into peptide fractions and amino acids through enzymatic hydrolysis.
In simple terms: enzymatic hydrolysis works like precision cutting. It breaks a long plant-protein chain into shorter peptide chains and amino acids, while avoiding the harsher conditions used in strong acid or alkaline hydrolysis.
What The Hydrolysate Contains

More than free amino acids

OPTIVI provides amino acids together with peptide fractions derived from enzymatically hydrolysed plant protein. These fractions include polypeptides and oligopeptides.

1

Plant-Derived Source

Produced from proteins of plant origin.

2

Enzymatic Hydrolysis

Uses a milder process than acid or alkaline hydrolysis.

3

Amino Acids + Peptides

Contains amino acids together with oligopeptide and polypeptide fractions.

Declared Composition

Technical composition

Component Content
Total Peptides and Amino Acids 23.4% w/v
Organic Carbon 21.0% w/v
Total Nitrogen (N) 5.3% w/v
Plant-derived Organic Nitrogen 5.0% w/v
Ammoniacal Nitrogen 0.3% w/v

Why enzymatic hydrolysis?

  • Uses milder processing conditions than strong acid or alkaline hydrolysis.
  • Does not require the high-temperature treatment associated with harsher hydrolysis methods.
  • Helps avoid conversion of free amino acids from the L-form to the D-form during extraction.
  • Plants cannot directly use D-form amino acids in normal metabolism.

Composition values are stated on a weight-per-volume basis. Always verify against the current Malaysian product label.

Trial Comparison

Tomato performance under drought stress

In a trial at Quinto Vicentino, Italy, OPTIVI was compared with an untreated control and several plant- or animal-derived protein hydrolysate products. All product treatments were applied at 3 L/ha, and drought stress began after the third application.

OPTIVI tomato drought stress trial comparison with plant and animal protein hydrolysates

Trial-specific result: OPTIVI recorded 35.0 red-ripe fruits, compared with 28.6 for the untreated control and 26.6–30.1 for the competitor treatments.
How to interpret the graph: OPTIVI recorded approximately 16%–32% more red-ripe fruits than the competitor treatments and 22% more than the untreated control in this trial. This comparison does not prove that every plant-based product is better than every animal-based product; raw-material source, hydrolysis method and final peptide profile can all influence performance.
Application Guide

Recommended use

Apply as a foliar spray with good, even crop coverage. Select timing according to crop condition, growth stage and anticipated environmental stress.

Crop group Recommended rate Suggested timing
Fruit crops 2–3 L/ha Before flowering, after fruit set and during fruit development.
Leafy vegetables 1–3 L/ha Start during early growth and repeat at 10–14 day intervals when required.
Field crops 2–3 L/ha Apply 1–2 times during early crop development.
Application reminder: Use the product label as the final instruction. Do not exceed the label rate. Water volume should provide adequate leaf coverage without excessive run-off.

When to consider OPTIVI

  • Before and after periods of abiotic stress
  • During drought or high-temperature pressure
  • During early vegetative development
  • Around transplanting and other key growth stages
  • Before flowering, after fruit set and during fruit development for fruit crops
Practical Use

Fit OPTIVI into the crop programme

Use the crop rate and timing stated on the current product label. Application frequency should reflect crop stage, environmental conditions and the complete nutrition programme.

For crop-specific advice, confirm the latest Malaysian label and Yara guidance before application.

Frequently Asked Questions

YaraAmplix OPTIVI FAQ

What is YaraAmplix OPTIVI used for?

It is a foliar biostimulant used to support active crop growth, photosynthesis, water-use efficiency and tolerance to abiotic stresses such as heat and drought.

Is OPTIVI just an amino acid fertiliser?

No. It contains a mixture of plant-derived peptides and amino acids produced by enzymatic hydrolysis. Its positioning is metabolic and stress-response support, in addition to supplying organic nitrogen.

What is enzymatic hydrolysis?

It is a controlled process that uses enzymes to break plant proteins into smaller peptide fractions and amino acids. Compared with strong acid or alkaline hydrolysis, it uses milder processing conditions.

When should OPTIVI be applied?

Apply around periods of abiotic stress and during important crop-growth stages. Exact timing and frequency depend on the crop, growth stage and current product label.

Which crops can OPTIVI be used on?

Application guidance is available for fruit crops, leafy vegetables and field crops. Rates differ by crop group, so follow the crop table above and the current product label.

Can OPTIVI be used during flowering and fruit development?

Yes. These are high-demand stages, and OPTIVI may help maintain physiological activity when crops encounter adverse weather. Follow the crop rate and current product label.

Can OPTIVI replace the normal fertiliser programme?

No. OPTIVI is a biostimulant intended to complement a balanced crop-nutrition programme. It does not replace the crop's required macro- and micronutrient supply.

Does OPTIVI control plant diseases?

No. OPTIVI is a biostimulant and is not a fungicide, insecticide or curative plant-protection product. It supports crop tolerance to non-living environmental stresses and does not replace registered crop-protection products.
